Repurposing, my next challenge.

No set plans yet just playing.

A pair of old jeans.
An old top.
There are lots of elements from these jeans that can be reused.
Buttons, and the button holes.
Pockets.
Graphics and contrasting fabrics.
Making paper patterns. You can use news paper but old ends of wall paper are stronger.
As I intend to make quite a few of these items, I wish to put my patterns onto card. Old cereal and pizza boxes are great for this.

Cutting strips of old jeans

Mr Micawber.
He was a jug, now a pin cushion.
Using the patterns cut a pieces of old sheet, pillowcase
Stitch.
Add more strips

Another piece of fabric, now patch work, this will be the inside of the piece.
Add pieces and stitch, repeat.

Old top, with great graphics
Cutting the sleeve off and open

Cut into strips.

Add to the jeans.

Signatures...., three in all.

Need to do some different sizes.

A trophy or atrophy that is the question.

OK so we have nearly finished now, Stuff is boxed up, and ready to go to Uni tomorrow. Thank you to Liz who is kind enough to take me and my stuff into college.

If I had found these a little earlier I may have been tempted to drill my glass bowls. These are tile and glass drill bit set, tungsten carbide tipped and very good.
Green house glass samples.
Melted green house glass samples, for my book and boards.
Drilling in process...,
Much harder work on the melted glass. Went in from both sides too. But drilling flat piece of glass and drilling a bowl shaped piece of glass would be very different. Still something to play with.
Stitching to card.
Using book binders thread, waxed linen, nice and strong.
Tape on the back, hopefully strong enough.

Wood sample, I love knots.

EKKKKKK! Blank white sheets, three of them!

Finished!
